Country music is there to help you drown out your screams of terror

Universalrockit

Most of the roller coasters I've ever been on have had headbanging, screeching music which I guess is supposed to set the mood of your twisty, windy, crazy ride. All it ever did for me was make me want to rip out the speakers.

Well now Florida's most technologically advanced roller coaster (their words, not mine), Universal Studio's Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, is letting you pick the music you hear while you enjoy the craziness of the ride. Then you get to star in your own video somehow, although the roller coaster's website doesn't explain how that part of the experience works.

When you get in your seat there are buttons that let you choose the music that will play right into your ears that your fellow riders wont be able to hear (check out how this works here).

There are five genres, with six songs apiece. The country tunes are:

  • "All Night Long," Montgomery Gentry
  • "Guitars, Cadillacs," Dwight Yoakam
  • "I Can Sleep When I'm Dead" Jason Michael Carroll
  • "Living in Fast Forward," Kenny Chesney
  • "Midnight Rider," The Allman Brothers
  • "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," The Charlie Daniels Band

The ride is set to open this summer sometime. Now enjoy a video of this awesomely crazy thrill ride.
